Here is the second batch of pics from the honeymoon. These ones are from our stay at the Lodge at Chaa Creek in San Ignacio.
Alex and I have returned from our honeymoon in Belize. Everything was great. We had perfect weather even though hurrincanes were close by. We have a ton of pictures so I will break them up into three posts. This first post is of us at our first stop in Belize, The Inn at Roberts Grove. We spent four nights here while we snorkled and explored the small costal town of Placencia.
A good part about posting photos on my site is that I can weed out all the unflatering ones. Unfortunately that is not the case with this last Oktoberfest, as all the photos were taken by Jeff Clegg and Brian Burke.
On Friday May 20th, 2005 Alex and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary. I took the opportunity on that special day to ask her to be my wife. She said “Yes!” and we are now engaged to be married. We have not yet set a date, but we will very soon.
I cannot express with words how incredibly happy I am. I hope these pictures will tell you.
The trip was great but it is always good to be home.
Here are the last photos from the trip. The first few are from my last day in Barcelona, at the Dali Museum. The next batch are from my time in Seville. The cathedral was great. It was so old and gothic. I did not get to go to a bull fight but there is a photo of the outside of the bullring, along with the river that runs through the town.
Today I went for my morning walk around Barcelona and got really lost. I was determined not to use my map, and to find my way back on my own. I needed to get back to the hotel by ten thirty because Placide was picking John and I up to head out to Jose?´s villa in the country. At ten fifteen I decided it was time to check the map. I was one block away.
The drive into the country was very nice. We stopped in a small Castalan city that I cannot remember the name of, to look at Placide?´s house renovations. Most of these photos are of that.
Next we continued further into the hills for lunch at Jose?´s villa. It was in a very small town and we had to drive through a dry river bed in order to get there. After lunch I got to ride around in a small six wheeled vehicle. Check out the photos to see what I mean.
After being out last night till after 2:30 AM I slept in this morning till 11:30. I was able to get in a good walk around the area near our hotel before John and I had to be at the train station. We ended up getting on the wrong train and passed Sitges by two stops. So we had to get off the train, buy another ticket and go back. Eventually when we got to Sitges it was very nice. It reminds me a lot of Cape Cod. I had lunch of baked Spider Crab. Which was minced crab meat served in a hollowed out crab shell
For dinner tonight I had seafood Paillea. It was a very large dish that looked like the bottom of the ocean had been put on my plate. It was great!
Tomorrow morning I am driving into the country side to see Jose’s villa. I didn’t take many pics today but I hope to have more to post tomorrow.
I thought I was starting to get adjusted to the time change, but it is now 1:00 am on Thursday and I am wide awake. Today I did some Goudi tourist things. I took the metro to the church of the sacred family. And then to the Park Guell. I am trying to up load all the pics, but these are the full size images so beware. I will probably scale them down when I get home.
Update, the scaled pics are online. Click as usual.
Tomorrow I head to Sitges for the day. It is only about a 1/2 hour by train. From what I hear it is a very nice beach town.
I will probably post more pics tomorrow.
Snow
Just yesterday it was 65 degrees in Denver and this is what I wake up to this morning. There is about 8 to 10 inches around my appartment and the forecast calls for another 4 to 6 by Monday morning.
Spain
I leave on my trip to Spain on Tuesday. I am so excited to see Barcelona, Seville and Sitges. I think that the hotels I am staying in will have internet access. I plan on uploading the pics a few times during the trip. So watch this space while I am gone.
Sox
I saw Fever Pitch today and it was pretty funny. But it reminded me that Opening Day at Fenway Park is on Monday. I can’t believe it is only going to be on NESN. At least I have mlb.tv Also, check out this great pic of the Monster from Eric Rossini.
